Once graduating with the LL.M., a student will qualify to sit for the California Bar Examination and, when the individual passes and complies with all other admission requirements to The State Bar of California, can practice law anywhere in California, in both state and federal courts.

The LL.M. degree is designed for those who possess foreign first degrees in law (who may or may not be working in the legal profession), and other global adult learners, who cannot travel to the University’s Pleasant Hill campus

To earn your JD online from St. Francis, you will be required to pass the First Year Law Students Exam, which will require that you come to California to take such exam. If you choose to take the California Bar Exam once you have earned your St. Francis JD, you will need to come to California again to sit for such exam.

This college does not have Regional Accreditation however graduates are eligible to sit for the California Bar Exam. The California School of Laws virtual classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm–9:00pm Pacific Time, or from 7:30pm to 10:30pm Eastern Time. Student attendance is required and attendance is taken at all classes.

For a Juris Doctorate degree, students must take and pass the California First-Year Law Students Examination given after the completion of the first year of law school. After graduation, students must also take and pass the California Bar Exam or a state bar exam in a state that admits our graduates.

Applicants with an Associates or Bachelors Degree from an accredited American college or university, with a minimum GPA of 2.0 are eligible for admission.
